Hi, everyone. I have been told by a pharmasist who'se father was an indian medic, that about a teaspoon of turmeric daily is beneficial to anyone with an auto-immune disease. I've looked this up on Google, and you can get tablets of turmeric. Anyone else heard of this, or tried it? Christine-FSmile x

I have this as part of my herbal tonic I take every day, three times a day. It is known as a powerful anti-inflam.

If you like spicy foods, you can also use it often in cooking, like fragrancing rice with it.

Cayenne is another spice which is excellent for anti inflam purposes, and you can even rub it into the joints.

Thanks for the info girls. Clicked on both links, and they said not suitable for people with blood disorders, amongst other things. This includes anti-coagulants, which I take. Oh well, it was worth a try. Love, Christine-F x

Hi Christine,

I too have heard of the wonders of turmeric and was prescribed a remedy by a nutritionist called Ultra Inflamx made by metagenics www.nutri.co.uk. It did help, but it's very expensive about £40.00 for a 2 week course. My inflammatory marker were low whilst I was on it, especially my ESR level, but it started to give me the trots and the price well... needless to say I'm not taking it now. However, I do try to cook with turmeric, we love curries, and drink teas which contain turmeric (Pukka 3 ginger tea).

love,

Barbara
